Learn to read the Nutrition Facts Label in five steps: check serving size, then calories per serving, then key nutrients. Focus on limiting saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, sodium, and added sugars, while getting enough fiber, vitamin D, calcium, iron, and potassium. Use Percent Daily Value to compare foods: 5% or less is low, 20% or more is high. The footnote explains how Daily Values are based on a 2,000‑calorie diet.
