Environmental Science — Life as a Chipmunk
If you have questions about this resource, contact your county Extension office.
Summary
This hands-on game uses chipmunks, hawks, and food tokens to show how food chains work and how energy and resources shape wildlife populations. Students act out seasons with plenty or scarce food, then add predators and humans to see how survival and reproduction change over time. The guide describes simple rules, discussion questions, and optional math extensions to help explain predator and prey roles and how ecosystems respond to changing conditions.
