Summary
An advanced 4-H consumer education project that builds real-world financial skills for career planning and adult independence. Youth research careers and job trends, complete a job shadow, and examine how education choices affect income and lifestyle. Activities cover how the consumer economy works, basic federal taxes and forms, and deeper money management topics like bank insurance, online budgeting tools, saving strategies, compound interest, and investing. The project also addresses credit and loans, purchasing power, insurance and risk protection, fraud and identity theft, household record keeping, housing trends and foreclosure, and how emotions and social pressures influence financial decisions.
