Evaluating Cattle Buy-Sell Margins

Summary
Buy-sell margins change significantly with cattle price magnitude. Thus, traditional buy-sell margins when only considering price differences does not clearly reflect the buy-sell margin available on a dollar per head basis. This is an important distinction as one makes purchasing and selling decisions in cattle production.
