Summary
The use of RFID tags in the livestock industry is expected to grow exponentially due to the simplicity of RFID systems, the increasing use of data analytics in livestock, and the ability to collect real-time data to inform management decisions. The biosecurity advantage of RFID cannot be overstated, especially given the ongoing threat posed by devastating diseases such as highly pathogenic avian influenza. It can spread rapidly through a flock once introduced through various means.
