If you have questions about this resource, contact your county Extension office.
Summary
Hands-on ocean science lesson for 4th and 5th graders that explains how aquatic food chains and food webs work and how energy moves through an ecosystem. Students learn roles like producers, consumers, and decomposers, plus herbivores, omnivores, and carnivores. Using a Nearpod activity and a group project with sea creature cards and string, they build a food web and discuss how removing one species, like a shark, can ripple through the whole system.
