However, raising backyard flocks has become even more popular since the COVID-19 pandemic as more people take a greater interest in where their food comes from and as more individuals choose to become increasingly self-sufficient and live a “homesteader-type” lifestyle, particularly in urban and suburban areas that may prohibit the keeping of larger domestic livestock (cattle, swine, sheep, goats, etc.).
