Summary
A three-level 4-H consumer education project that builds money skills from basics to real-world financial planning. Beginners learn income sources, wants versus needs, goods and services, supply and demand, taxes, budgeting, savings goals, and credit basics. Intermediate youth practice price comparisons, paycheck deductions, cost of living, SMART savings-spending plans, banking and emergency funds, credit and interest, and consumer protection topics like insurance, fraud, and identity theft. Advanced participants connect education and careers to lifestyle, study taxes and forms, use budgeting tools, build saving and investing skills, understand loans and purchasing power, manage risk with insurance, track household records, explore housing trends, and examine how emotions and social pressure affect decisions.
