Summary
Intermediate 4‑H outcomes expand skills in goat breed knowledge, anatomy, and herd management. Youth learn more breeds and origins, identify many external and skeletal parts, and practice health care such as injections, drenching, medication labels/inserts, biosecurity, and parasite control. Nutrition topics include common feeds, reading feed tags (including medicated feeds), hay quality, vitamins, and pasture plants. Learners also cover reproduction basics, carcass and retail cuts, goat products, showmanship, and livestock judging with oral reasons.
