Summary

A beginner 4-H creative arts and design project that introduces basic design elements, principles, and color concepts through hands-on exploration. Youth learn key terms and ideas, then practice identifying these ideas in real artworks and rooms. Activities include trying different visual art and craft materials, exploring art and crafts from history and local communities, creating sketchbooks and scrapbooks, and building simple design boards for room ideas. The project also helps youth connect interests to careers in art, crafts, and interior design.
