Summary

This publication discusses the Body Condition Scoring System (BCS) for evaluating the heath of your horse. Equine health requires proper nutrition, adequate shelter, and quality care. Regularly evaluate management practices to ensure horse well-being. Horse body weight fluctuates due to seasonal changes, exercise, reproductive activities, parasites, and dental problems. Using the BCS system for consistent evaluation helps identify horses in between.
