Summary

Intermediate 4‑H outcomes deepen skills for managing and evaluating horses. Youth learn more breeds and uses, advanced color patterns, judging conformation and soundness, hoof and shoe care, diseases, parasites, vaccinations, and basic first aid. Topics also include safer tack and transport, nutrition and toxic plants, budgeting and welfare, herd behavior, facilities and fencing, pasture and waste management, plus preparation for judging, hippology, horse bowl, and presentations.
