Summary

Beginner 4‑H outcomes build core knowledge for safe, responsible horsemanship. Topics include horse terms and measuring height, major breeds and registries, coat colors and markings, horse history, basic conformation and hoof parts, health checks and common diseases, tack and bits, feeding basics, and horse behavior and safety. Youth also prepare for contests such as judging, hippology, horse bowl, and presentations.
