Summary

The Tennessee Quality Milk Initiative utilizes DHI reports to identify and address mastitis in herds by providing basic somatic cell count and somatic cell score information. These tests are crucial in assessing milk quality, with normal milk having fewer than 200,000 cells/ml or SCS <4, and infected milk having more than 200,000 cells/ml or SCS >4.
