Summary

Flatheaded borers (Chrysobothrwas) are wood-boring insects that are native to the U.S. Their infestation can cause plant damage and death among woody ornamentals and orchard crops. A 2023-2024 survey elicited grower and orchards current incidences, control methods, and receptiveness to alternative control methods. Thirty firms participated in the study. Firms are receptive to alternative controls that are easy to implement with their current production systems.
